The first vinyl arrivals of the new year from three different continents are looking out of the hatch.
Jack White’s label Thirdman Records from Nashville, Tennessee sent me two essentials from their catalog: the first one is a reissue of France Gall’s »Baby Pop« which is a hugely important record for the entire yé-yé scene and which was released 1966. Their second one is by New Mexico-based artist Heather Trost and her album »Petrichor« which is a modern psychedelic pop music album at its finest!
DJ Paul Sitter from Russia sent me his latest 45 of his »Funky Shit Edits« with dope mashup remixes of Beastie Boys inter alia his version of »Body Movin« which used 4 different beats.
Last but not least another essential new 45 by my homie DJ MOAR from France who drops two floor-filler on his »45 Loves«-series. »F/FF« starts with a stomping edit by Venice Beach (for the 1st on 7inch) and ends with his alter ego Jay Airiness with an absolutely surefire edit of »Walk On The Wild Side«!
Thanks for sending me these top notch vinyl releases and be sure to hear them in my next shows on Brooklyn Radio! Furthermore this Sunday my one-hour guest mix for Greek’s radio station »Soul Messin« (www.smradio.org) is getting live at 18:00 pm EET but I’ll give you an additional post on Monday for streaming.
Enjoy your weekend and stay strong! ♡♡♡
