Three amazing albums arrived which I’ll drop in my first show of June, so here we go:

My home base Agogo Records will release a fantastic album with legendary vibraphonist Mulatu Astatke – ሙላቱ አስታጥቄ from Ethiopia and his Melbourne-based eight-piece band Black Jesus Experience (BJX) at the end of June! This record is full of hip-hop-infused jazz and funk grooves and I’m happy to hold it in my hands at an early stage. Definitely don’t miss this.

Next up der Promotor sent me two wonderful vinyl releases by one of my fav soul bands for some time past: The Monophonics who blend heavy soul and psych-rock in a timeless sound on Ohio-based label Colemine Records whose credo is to deliver quality music with soul on vinyl. Last but not last it’s Hanni El Khatib and his new and brilliant release »Flight« (Innovative Leisure Records) with the cooperation of Leon / El Michels Affair. He already worked together with GZA, Freddie Gibbs and The Black Keys and his album is described as garage rock, hip-hop, soul, blues and psychedelic but better listen by yourself.

Much love for these wonderful pieces on wax and be sure to check out my next show on Brooklyn Radio upcoming Monday which will be another really dope episode including guest from the UK, Greece and Japan! »Oonops Drops« keeps it real, worldwide!

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe! 🕊
