Back again with a bunch of cool vinyl records after a little summer flu. My homie Jonas Rothe (www.jonasrothe.de) visited me and did some shots of me and them.
The good folks of HHV Records sent me three dope records of their house-made label by dj and producer Ol‘ Burger Beats from Norway who did an exclusive guest mix in my penultimate show and who’s back with his new album „Daybreaks“ (Beat Jazz International), a deep journey into jazz and soulful hip hop. The new album Supa Vill’n (Akromégalie Records) by producer Parental Of KALHEX and Long Island rapper Horror City aka Roy Hamilton and last but not least the brand new 45 of the essential HHV Boombap 45s-series with another classic by Blahzay Blahzay and “Danger” b/w “Pain I Feel”!
POSTPARTUM. is coming next with two brand new releases by Mike Flips and his hard-hitting boombap sounds plus Fillo & Soupbox with top notch, soulful sampled beats and bits which gets released soon! Definitely check out the back catalogue of this quality independent label!
Parisian master Guillaume Metenier a.k.a. SOUL SUGAR has two new really fresh singles out for the summertime: First one is a cool cover version of Luther Vandross‘ „Never Too Much“ including remixes by Sly & Robbie and Adam Prescott Music! Second one is a 45 on Iroko Records with his alter ego Booker Gee and a banging cover of The Brentford All-Stars “Greedy G”!
The last two singles are by my homie DJ MOAR from France with an incredible disco electro boogie floor-killing edit of Nas which is already sold out and a new single by L.A. hip hop duo Substance Abuse who feature Aceyalone on this jazzy rap 45 (Ramrock Records).
Thanks to y’all, have a sunny weekend and hear them soon in my upcoming shows on Brooklyn Radio!
