It’s my first show of the year on Brooklyn Radio and it begins with not less than three exclusive guest mixes and over three hours of play time without talk:

My guests are producer and DJ Dr Rubberfunk from the UK who already has remixed artists from The Stereo MC’s & Norah Jones to Bobby Hebb & Madness and who did a sweet selection out of his crates featuring new tracks of his upcoming release on Jalapeno Records. London’s Mr Brown – head honcho of the We Stay True label – is blending a dope mix of hip hop before US based electronic production duo Thoma is ending the show with a laid-back mixture.

I’m opening the show with two superdope tracks from POSTPARTUM. by iLL‘ J aka Mad Kid and Skillz Flav‘, a heavy remix of Zero dB’s »Party Girl« by Marc Mac on Tru Thoughts, rap skills by Gigolo D & JerMc (Heiße Luft), a reissued classic by Shortie No Mass on Vinyl Digital, chilled boom bap beats by DJ BUZZ & Mono:Massive (Radio Juicy), the title-giving track by Curtis Mayfield, 1/6 with funky »Cosmetic Love« (Hopestreet Recordings), more funky dope beats on a 45 by Lewis Parker on KingUnderground, The Jazz Defenders with a beautiful jazz track (Haggis Records), Curtis again with »Superflyl« but this time alongside Ice-T, Oskar Hahn & Frank Schöpke – Saxophonist take it easy with their rolling good vibes tune, 80’s japanese synth pop track »Tong Poo« by 矢野顕子 / Akiko Yano reissued on WEWANTSOUNDS and ending with Der O of Kram aus der Ecke.
