One of my favourite shows of the year is on air now on Brooklyn Radio, „California Soul 6“. This time I have invited two funky soul brothers and record collectors from Germany for exclusive guest mixes. First one is Florian Keller (Compost Records | Party Keller), a well-known name in the worldwide soul & funk game who takes it serious with a strictly interpretation of celestial Cali sounds be that soul, funk or hip hop by artists like RAMP, Diana Ross, Darondo, The Main Ingredient and lots more. Next guest Satenga (Martin Geefunk / Studio45 Bronco’s Bar / Hannover) also digged deep in his vinyl crates for a very tasty fusion mix of sunshine sounds.

But first I start this episode with one hour of lovely soul by Carlton Jumel Smith on Timmion Records, a fresh, crispy soul nugget by Cookin On 3 Burners, Southpaw Chop Music Production who edits Clarence Reid on his new 45, classics like „Express Yourself“, „The Streets Of San Francisco“ and „Oooh Baby“, brand new funk heat by The Mandatory Eight on ATA Records with a kick ass back beat, a personal dancefloor tested burner by Soul Messin‘ Allstars, boom bap styles by Klaus Layer, raw soul by The Gripsweats (Colemine Records), Amerigo Gazaway with his Bizarre Tribe’s version of „Doin‘ Time“, The Soul Surfers and Magic In Threes with delightfully smoked out jams on London’s quality label KingUnderground, Emilia Sisco with magic retro-soul and many more.

Enjoy this two and a half hours ride through Cali and feel the sunshine in your veins! ☀🔥
